    Don't worry about understanding everything.

    Learn a few basic amateur-radio abbreviations.

    Listen to a live CW QSO.
    Write down:

    Callsign
    A few characters you recognize
    Any abbreviation you recognize
    Something you didn't understand
    Then look it up.
